Gershom Mott Williams

Gershom Mott Williams was born 11 February 1857 in Hamilton, NY.
He was elected first bishop of Marquette 14 November 1895 and consecrated 1 May 1896.
He was on the commission appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury in pursuance of resolution 74 of the Lambeth Conference of 1908〔(Resolution 74 of the Lambeth Conference of 1908 ).〕 on the relation of the Anglican Communion to the Church of Sweden〔(The Church of England and the Church of Sweden ) (1911).〕 and also translated the Doctrine of the Church of Sweden as to the Holy Ministry and the Constitution of the Church (1909).
He resigned October 1919.
He died 14 April 1923.
